Netflix released a new trailer for Fool Night on Thursday (November 5). The anime is based on the manga by Kasumi Yasuda and premieres on November 26, with all episodes available at once on the streaming platform. The series marks the first collaboration between studios Sunrise and SHAFT. Check out the trailer below.
The Story of Fool Night

In a dystopian future, humanity depends on the limited oxygen produced by a process known as Transfloration. The technology involves implanting seeds into the bodies of people on the brink of death, transforming them into plants. The procedure offers a way to ensure the survival of the human species in an increasingly hostile world.
The protagonist is Toshiro Kamiya, a young man living in poverty who struggles to pay taxes, cover basic expenses, and afford medication for his mother, who suffers from a mental illness. Amid his daily fight for survival, the harsh reality around him threatens to destroy any hope of a better future.
Voice Cast

The Japanese voice cast of Fool Night includes:
- Kōki Uchiyama as Toshiro Kamiya
- Minako Kotobuki as Yomiko Horai
- Junya Enoki as Akira Yatsuka
- Aya Endō as Saeko Kanaeno
- Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi as Jin Hiragishi
Junya Enoki, Aya Endō, and Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi were announced in August during Anime NYC, alongside the release of the second teaser and the series’ premiere date. An English-dubbed trailer was also unveiled at the event, but the names of the voice actors involved in that version had not yet been announced.
