Steps: Netflix Releases Trailer for Cinderella-Inspired Animated Film

Netflix released the official trailer for “Steps” this Thursday (October 15). The animated film retells the story of Cinderella from the perspective of her stepsisters. The video opens with a retelling of the classic fairy tale, introducing Cinderella’s stepsisters as the story’s villains. Lilith then interrupts the narration, insisting that the familiar version of events doesn’t tell the whole truth. She promises an adventure filled with “revenge, high-speed chases, and a ridiculously hot troll.”

According to the preview, Lilith and her sister Margot steal the Fairy Godmother’s wand and wreak havoc at the royal ball. Their actions throw the kingdom into chaos, allowing Priscilla to seize power. To stop her, Lilith teams up with Cinderella and a troll, setting off on an adventure that offers a fresh take on the classic fairy tale.

Plot

In Steps, Lilith, one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, decides to break free from the villainous role imposed on her. After stealing the Fairy Godmother’s wand and causing chaos at the royal ball, she inadvertently helps the villainous Priscilla take control of the kingdom. Now, Lilith must team up with Cinderella and a mysterious troll to face danger, save the kingdom, and discover whether the two sisters can write their own happily-ever-after.
