A 78ª edição do Emmy Awards, realizada na noite de ontem (14), no Peacock Theater, em Los Angeles, teve The Pitt e O Segredo de Widow’s Bay como os grandes vencedores nas categorias de drama e comédia, respectivamente. A cerimônia foi apresentada por Mariska Hargitay.
O principal destaque individual da noite foi Matthew Rhys. O ator entrou para a história do Emmy ao se tornar o primeiro vencedor da premiação a conquistar duas categorias de protagonista na mesma cerimônia: Melhor Ator em Série de Comédia, por O Segredo de Widow’s Bay e Melhor Ator em Minissérie ou Telefilme, por O Monstro em Mim.
Produzida pela Apple TV+, O Segredo de Widow’s Bay foi a produção mais premiada da noite. A série conquistou estatuetas nas principais categorias de comédia, incluindo Melhor Série de Comédia, além de prêmios de atuação, direção e roteiro.
Na categoria de drama, os troféus foram distribuídos entre diferentes produções. The Pitt venceu como Melhor Série de Drama e também garantiu o prêmio de Melhor Ator em Série de Drama para Noah Wyle. Entre os demais vencedores estiveram Rhea Seehorn, por Pluribus; Allison Janney, por A Diplomata; Tom Pelphrey, por Task; Vince Gilligan, pelo roteiro de Pluribus; e Saul Metzstein, pela direção de Slow Horses.
